Gaydon 2008

Post by John.Reddie »

On 3 and 4 May this year there will be a Heritage Run (Land Rover's 60th Birthday) from Solihull to the Heritage Motor Centre at Gaydon. It is being organized by the Range Rover Register (RRR).

If people are interested we should perhaps try and get some CSKs together for this event and see if RRR are interested in our participation, or at least being there with a "show of strength" if not... :)

I believe Michiel Bakkenes is bringing his beauty over from Holland for the weekend.

Any more for any more???

Mine will be SORN by then, as I'm not going to be using it this year, but I've already offered it to RRR (and LR) for the event. Unfortunately I haven't heard back...

However, if we're going to get a few CSKs together, I'd be willing to throw some insurance back on the car for the weekend... It would be great to get as many as possible for this event. (Nos. 1 and 200 would be nice to see there too)

It would be great if many owners would attend this event. There is no need to participate with the run organized by the RRR. We could do our own run if there are enough CSK's. I think it would be a nice publicity stunt if we could arrange a line-up of 10 or more CSK's in a row etc. I will surely come over from Holland with my wife Wendy.

I've just heard back from Chris Eliot, who's organising this for the RRR, indicating that mine is welcome... I'm going to mention to him that some more of us would also like to pop along for the event, even if not as part of the official RRR collection.

Thanks Stuart.

Mine is likely to be in a state but having just passed 200,000 miles is at least a testament to the CSK's durability!!! Of course, it *might* have been welded by then but that's been the plan for the past 3 months...

Count me in one way or another though. No 72 of course. H3 CSK!

PS. I just succumbed a bought a 1981 2 door "In Vogue" too. I must be a complete sucker for 2dr limited editions!!! It needs a LOT of work...

I just got this reply from Chris Elliot, so it seems we're ALL welcome :)

Hi Stuart

With reference to your friends and their CSK's, all they need to do is to contact me with their details as you did, and they will be able to participate. They do not have to be RRR members for this event, although we hope they may join at sometime.

Regards
Chris Elliott.
