Number of Auto/Manual CSK's

Post by Defender50th »

Hi,

Anyone know how many auto's and how many manuals there were? I have just read on another forum 85% were manual, so that only means there are 30 autos?

This "85% manuals" line keeps going round, but it must be a lie, as most of the CSKs I know of, or are on this site, are autos.

I suspect (without counting up to check) that about 60% were autos.

I found a magazine, LRO I think, from 1990 in which the reporter states only 5 % of Range Rovers sold were manual and somewhere between 10 to 15 % of CSK's. As a percentage more manual CSK's than manual vogues due to the CSK's sporty image.
Pity Land Rovers records are not available... This would seem to be about rignt as Stu says, almost all that come up for sale are automatic's. I'll see if I can dig out the article.

Just did a count of the register, and those that say there are 22 manuals and 21 autos.

I'm going to try Land Rover 'Traceability' to see if they can come up with anything.

Ok, i have had Land Rover traceablity look into it and the oficial word is 120 auto and 80 manual.

So first prize to Stu with his 60% auto guess :)

Thanks for the research!

I always knew my manual would be one of the rarer ones :)
