CSK 196 for sale

Post by David »

I have driven CSK 196 since my company bought it from Land Rover in 1991 and have owned it myself since 1994. I have full history including the limited edition number badge. The car is the automatic version and has done 85,885 miles. Sadly it has just failed the MOT and I now want to sell it. The car has given great service and has been well used; it still drives today. Bodywork condition is not great. Please contact me if you can use it.

Hi, the car is off-road in the west end of Glasgow. I'm hoping to get some idea of what it's worth when the festive holidays are over tomorrow as my knowledge of car values is non-existant.It has visited East Lothian many times as friends live near Haddington. Regards David

In view of the MOT failure I seek offers over £2,500. I believe my car was used by Land Rover during the model launch and the photographs are part of the marketing campaign. As the tax has run out it needs Trade Plates or a trailer to move it. Location is the west end of Glasgow.

Possibley interested, any chance of photos as it is today? How bad is the bodywork? What are the MOT failures?

Thanks!

Dear David
I'm definitely interested. Been looking for a CSK for a while and ideally one to restore. Have a friend who's based near Edinburgh who runs a garage and has a transporter and have spoken to him so he's happy to collect for me.

Would be useful to know why failed MOT and if any current photo's, If you have been running it each day they could use the trade plates if running ok.

If easier to call and discuss mot, then my number is 01624 829500 (day)or mobile 07624 492203.

thanks
Iain

Hi, the MOT showed up approx £1K of component replacement, including welding of both front inner body panels. Cosmetically, the bonnet could also be replaced as could the lower part of the bodywork at the tailgate; upper tailgate was replaced. Sills are OK; air conditioning worked when it was last used; electric windows work; 'A' posts are 95% rust free. The car runs well and could be driven on trade plates. I think it's of interest to a couple of guys looking for a genuine model to restore. I have driven it for almost 20 years but there is no specialist technician in Glasgow to look after it, so it's time for me to sell it to someone who wants a restoration project. If you still want to see photos please send me an email address. Regards, David
