this shell was really badly rotten, i have seen early 1970's shells in better condition.

this shell was a good 4 door ex police shell i bought a few years ago and stored in the dry. i just converted it to 2 door. the company that supplies the new side frames and a pillars have gone bust so i am having to use the frames off the old shell and some pillars from old stock.

here i have fitted the old side panels and new door to check alignment after fitting the side frame, new sill and lower a pillar. i didnt patch the shell, if its rotten its cut out and a new section added. :)

hope you all like them, regards, james.

i manufactured my own sills, made from 2.2mm galvanised steel, alot stronger than original, and my own rear crossmember.
if land rover had spent half as much time as this when they were new they would still be sound 20 years on.
