Lets revive the CSK site... make a CSK club

Post by stuclark »

It's been deadly quiet around here again, but I've been thinking...

I think it's about time we upped the awareness of our CSK site and formulate a proper CSK club. Maybe even help each other out in restoration and other things...

What do you all think?

The problem is that there are so few of us. Surely best to merge with the new(ish) two door range rover club/site guys who seem petty active.

Or at least merge the forum. It is a bit morgue like here! (But at least it is here!)

I try and post on here as much as possible but I agree, it's unusual to log in and see new posts.

A club sounds interesting :)

Merging the clubs / forums / whatever sounds like a good idea... seeing as the CSK is so much *NOT* a standard 1990 car, the 2 door chaps may well be more closely aligned with our issues anyway.

I'm happy to host / build a new / changed website / forum / whatever, or equally happy for John to host it on this site if he wants (I'll try to find an email address and ask him direct)

Hi,

I quite like this site, yeah not many poeple visit it but the CSK is rare so you wont get many visitors.
I would just make this site the club website and maybe you could help john run it for updates and stuff.

It would be nice to see this site updated a bit more often, perhaps expanded upon.

I for one would be happy to keep a blog of my CSK running with what I've been up to on her and where I've been.

I also think a club based around this site would be a good idea, maybe even with meetings once in a while? :)

I do not use this site often, and do not find it easy to use.
We seem to have the same problem that the Landrover Register had, who have now merged with the Series 1 Club, but kept their own distinction. We have a small number of members interested in a limited number of CSK's
However, the Landrover Register Members funded the manufacture of rare parts, a problem CSK owners have if you want your car to be totally original, such as the chrome bumpers, bump stops and shock absorbers which are now difficult to find, and an original one piece exhaust from front to back quite rare too.
Perhaps by clubing together we could have some of these produced, and sold for a small surplus to help fund the site.

Two CSK's and a Velar which is even more difficult to find parts for these days

You're many! :)
Since I've given up a CSK (for now - there is a 12000 pound inport tax on them in Norway) - I'm setting up www.rangerovermonteverdi.com now - and we're few!

19 owners per today...spread around 27 cars...one came in the other day from India (!)

btw, we've talked about reproducing special RR Monteverdi parts, so it's a good idea with "economy of scale".
